Traditional Food Revisited At Velammal

The Primary Compartment in an attempt to bring to light some of the forgotten or rather unknown dishes from Tamil Nadu, arranged for a Food Expo on traditional food items. Students of class V enthusiastically participated displaying traditional recipes made from maize, ragi, wheat and millets. The delicious dishes were presented in earthen pots and on banana leaves. Traditional snacks like Murukku , Seedai, Bajji , Poori , Pakoda and Kozhukkatta were a few items that formed part of an elaborate display. The students also spoke on the ill effects of plastics.
